Relay week is near

Well after my oven dying on me over the weekend. The new stove was delivered yesterday and I can't wait to test it out. I am getting this ready for a bake sale table next weekend for our Relay for life team sale next week. dozens of cupcakes to be made and sold. 
Now working on decorations for my house for Memorial day. Thanks to the men and women that put themselves in harms way for us.. Pictures will be posted when I get them done...

Thomas the train

This weekend is Thomas the Train. I used the Wilton shaped pan so he would be perfect. Working on making all the frosting colors now so they are bright Red and Deep black in time to frost it tomorrow.. I also made the Birthday boy a name banner with a train and tracks going across the top. I will post all the pics tomorrow afternoon. Have a great day everyone.

Dora cake done

Here are pic's of the finished cake.

Dora and friends are drawn on rice paper from coloring images found on line and colored in with edible markers.

Layers are vanilla cake, buttercream, marshmallow fondant, painted fondant decorations, chocolate letters and # 2.

Well today is Dora cake day. Most of the decorations are cut and painted, air brushing is done and drying. Made a special single cake for the birthday girl apart from the bigger cake so we don't have to worry about her allergy to red dye's being on the decorations for the bigger cake. Can't wait to post pic's of the finished product...

New week..

Well this week is not starting off well. Yucky snow in the middle of April.. But on a good note, I have a cake tasting on Saturday, some yummy flavors will be done... I think I am gonna surprise a friend with a small cake for his brother's birthday. I have to bake anyway so why not.. I love it.... Next week is a Dora cake hand painting Dora, Boots, Backpack, Map and Swipper from her favorite coloring pages.. Such fun. Also making the rest of my easter cards today and tomorrow. Gotta get them in the mail. Sometimes I am so bad at waiting till the last minute. Well till the cake and cards are done. See ya next time. 

Princess castle cake

Well the princess castle cake has come together nicely.. The cake is confetti, frosting is buttercream, the castle sides are cut from the Cricut cake, decorations are molded white chocolate. The spaces on top will hold princess dolls the parent has bought. I hope you like it..

Busy Thursday

Well today is shopping and princess castle day.. 
All the side are dried and cake baked. Next up is buttercream..  
I guess I better stop and buy the board it needs to go on... That would help uhh.

This week

Well this week I have a 50th Birthday cake that the theme can not be discussed till it's done and a 31st birthday cake... I love what I do... Hahaha

Irish Love wedding cake

Well here it is in all it's glory...
The bottom tier is Strawberry, Middle is Irish cream and the top is Key lime.

The words are Gaelic for Love, Loyalty and Friendship.   

The shamrocks are gelatin, Butterflies are gelatin and gumpaste..

Cookies n Cuppies

Facebook Fan Page

Well I have done it, I have set up a fan page on Facebook, search for " Dragonfly cakes " and you will find it.Trying to expand my business to reach outside the close knit group of friends and family I bake for. I will also be set up at a Relay for life Expo sale on Saturday for getting my name and product out there. Well tomorrow is a big baking day at least 16dz cuppies are to be made and school treats for st. Patrick's day have to be finished and a cuppie delivery is to be made..

Dr. Seuss

Well the cake was a huge hit. I forgot to take pics so I used my daughters phone and they came out really small.
The bottom layer is carrot cake with CC filling, middle is Chocolate cake with Chocolate filling and the top is White cake with Vanilla filling. MMF airbrushed Yellow and whipped cream topping to look like cloudy tops.
This cake is fashioned after the Birthday cake in the Dr. Seuss book, Happy Birthday to You..


The mini cakes are Chocolate cake with Chocolate frosting covered in Red Fondant. The Thing 1, Thing 2 and Red fish, Blue fish are made out of fondant and gumpaste.
I hope you like them and this week calls for an Anniversary cake for a friend..
