I am loving this machine so much... I have been playing and making wall type plaques that could be framed and some party decorations for a friends son.

this was my first time using center cut for the name after I cut out the border.

This week

Well this week I have a 50th Birthday cake that the theme can not be discussed till it's done and a 31st birthday cake... I love what I do... Hahaha
Also working on more figure's cut out with my Cricut..

Irish Love wedding cake

Well here it is in all it's glory...
The bottom tier is Strawberry, Middle is Irish cream and the top is Key lime.

The words are Gaelic for Love, Loyalty and Friendship.   

The shamrocks are gelatin, Butterflies are gelatin and gumpaste..

Cookies n Cuppies

Well Cookies were on the docket for today...

Cupcakes were done for the Relay sale.

Peanut butter, Peanut butter with Nutella and Chocolate Chip (not photographed).

Wedding cake details to be made tomorrow.. Shamrocks and Butterflies...

Facebook Fan Page

Well I have done it, I have set up a fan page on Facebook, search for " Dragonfly cakes " and you will find it.Trying to expand my business to reach outside the close knit group of friends and family I bake for. I will also be set up at a Relay for life Expo sale on Saturday for getting my name and product out there. Well tomorrow is a big baking day at least 16dz cuppies are to be made and school treats for st. Patrick's day have to be finished and a cuppie delivery is to be made..

Dr. Seuss

Well the cake was a huge hit. I forgot to take pics so I used my daughters phone and they came out really small.
The bottom layer is carrot cake with CC filling, middle is Chocolate cake with Chocolate filling and the top is White cake with Vanilla filling. MMF airbrushed Yellow and whipped cream topping to look like cloudy tops.
This cake is fashioned after the Birthday cake in the Dr. Seuss book, Happy Birthday to You..


The mini cakes are Chocolate cake with Chocolate frosting covered in Red Fondant. The Thing 1, Thing 2 and Red fish, Blue fish are made out of fondant and gumpaste.
I hope you like them and this week calls for an Anniversary cake for a friend..

Sweet 16 cake

This is Today's cake for the daughter of a friend.. Way to go..

All the lettering was cut out of rice paper using my Cricut cake machine.. I think I will be putting that machine to a lot of uses. Tomorrow is 2 half sheet cakes for Teacher appreciation week at a local elementary school.  Till tomorrow have a good night..

A weekend to keep busy

Well This will be a busy weekend. I got a last minute order for an "adult" birthday cake for Sat. evening, Gotta make the Sweet 16 decorations for the cake due Monday, Working on Sunday.   Dr. Seuss cake due for next Sunday is gonna be great. Thing 1, Things 2, Happy Birthday to Yous... hahaha I love it. Our weather is sucking here, but We will persevere as Michigander's do.. 
Well I am off to the kitchen to get to work so till I post pic's later have a good day.. 

Still sick

Well I still haven't been able to do anything. Ended up at the ER and after 4hrs I have Laryngitis, Bronchitis and Costochondritis (swelling and irritation of the tissue that connects my ribs to the breast bone). Well it stinking sucks..  I have some cookies due the end of the week and a Sweet 16 cake for next Monday. Will hopefully be able to do some Cricut work on the cake and maybe some toppers for the cookies. I would really like to play with it more. 
Well I am off to get ready for work.. Why people would go out in this crappy ice and snow just to have a photo taken is beyond me. Insane to me..

Not doing much

Well I haven't been doing much as I have been sick sense Saturday. Doc today sinus thing, horrible cough, high heart rate and blood pressure is up. Now i'm on an antibiotic, cough syrup with codeine and if not better by Friday I have to go back..    Luckily I haven't had any cakes due or would be in trouble.  I did try out my new Cricut cake machine I bought last week. I love ebay... I have cut out some words and tonight I cut out a Pooh Bear. So Cute... When I get to feeling better I will be making some sample cakes so I can post pics of some of the cool things these cartridges can do.. I will be using one of the fonts to cut out Gaelic words for Love, Loyalty and Friendship... It's gonna be cool. Well I will post a pic of Pooh bear in a bit, Till next time have a great night everybody..

A Holiday weekend is upon it.

On the docket for today is Valentines Cake pops and mini strawberry heart pies... Strawberry sprinkle cake pops with candy hearts and thanks to best bites blog the cutest mini heart pies. I have made them with nutella in the middle and oh my gosh they are so yummy... So we will see how the friends like them... Pictures will follow tomorrow..  

Been awhile

Wow, I didn't realize that I hadn't posted in almost a week. I did finish the Final fantasy cake, I will add that pic in a bit. The rest of the month is very, very slow. I have a cake for Family Video on the 23rd and Valentines treats for friends and the boys to take to school then I get to spend time playing with my new toy. I have bought and waiting for delivery a Cricut Cake Machine. I am so excited I can't wait to play with it. 
Next month I have a few cakes on the books, A Dr. Seuss birthday cake for a set of the cutest twin boys I know, A 15yr Anniversary cake, a wedding cake and 4 dz cupcakes for a benefit dinner's bake sale. 

 I know it's not a very good pic but it was a sheet cake and zooming out to get the whole cake you really couldn't see the image in the middle.

MMF covers the cake.  The little one is yet to be named so just, "Welcome Baby".. Thanks for reading. I will be busy tonight and tomorrow working on a 40th birthday sheet cake and 3 sheet cakes for a benefit dinner for a young lady that just lost her battle with cancer..

New week on it's way..

Well this week is coming to a close and the new starting. As well as the Final Fantasy 40th birthday cake and Ladybug baby shower cake for next weekend. I am also now donating 3 sheet cakes for a benefit dinner for a young lady that is suffering from Cancer.. I can't wait to make them. Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry.. Yummy It is a great thing for the school to do for a past student. Here are a few picture ideas floating around for the cakes.. Good baking everyone..

Slow week

Skateboard Cake

Well today is the day that I get to carve a half sheet cake into a skateboard. I hope it works. I'm a little nervous that it will look funny. Not having boys I have not been exposed to a skateboard. I guess I better get a piece of cardboard and have a drawing session to get the shape right.. Then on to the bible that will sit on top. Till later have a great day everyone. Skateboard, Cinderella, Rainbows

What do these things have in common??? They are the cakes on board for this week. 

My daughters rainbow theme, My god daughters Cinderella and a graduation cake with a skateboard/Bible theme. Gotta make a cereal treat book and get it covered and bake the cake for the skateboard.. More carving in store for me tomorrow.. Yay. I love trying new things. Well I'm off to the kitchen and will post pics as I get things done. Have a good day..
